Day 1 – Split
Upon arrival at Split airport, your driver will meet you and drive you along the stunning coastline to your hotel.
Day 2 – Explore Split
This morning you will be met at your hotel and transferred to Split center to enjoy a half day city tour starting with an exploration of the Palace of the Emperor Diocletian which lies at the heart of Split, this palace was built in 295 BC. See Peristil Square where the Emperor made his speeches as well as the mausoleum of the Roman Emperor which been transformed into a Catholic church. After visiting the palace, immediately outside you will see many charming “piazzas”.
Explore the old town with its many interesting sights. At the end of the city tour you will also see Riva, a coastal walk with palm trees where you can relax in the sun and enjoy a beautiful view of the port and close-by islands. Return to your hotel by private vehicle for an afternoon at leisure.
Day 3 – Split
Spend the day at your hotel enjoying the wealth of activities on offer.
Day 4 – Split/Dubrovnik
After breakfast enjoy a private transfer to Dubrovnik. There is no denying that the jewel of Southern Dalmatia is Dubrovnik. The famous Irish writer, Bernard Shaw is quoted as saying ‘Those who wish to see heaven on earth should come to
Dubrovnik’ and the same is true today. Stay at the Hotel Excelsior within walking distance of the city walls.
Day 5 – Dubrovnik
Today enjoy a half day walking tour with your qualified English-speaking guide of the old city of Dubrovnik, proclaimed a city museum by UNESCO. The old city is surrounded by a circuit of city walls; over a mile in length, and with a tower in each corner, they are a masterpiece of medieval and renaissance architecture. You will also stroll along the centuries-old main city promenade called Stradun; at one end of this street you will visit 14th-century Franciscan Monastery whose cloister ranks among the most inspiring sites of the city. At the other end, see the church of St. Blaise and the Sponza Palace, and the Rector’s Palace. You will also visit the Dominican Church and Monastery, constructed during the 14th century at the same time as the city’s walls were being erected.
Day 6 – Dubrovnik
Spend the day at your hotel or wander back into Dubrovnik town for lunch and some shopping.
Day 7 – Depart Dubrovnik
Enjoy a relaxing morning at your hotel or catch up on some last-minute shopping, before your driver collects for your return journey to the airport.
